December Volunteer of the Month
Greg Cinelli is a 23-year military veteran with 6 combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Greg was an amateur boxer but suffered an injury that put him in a TBI program for about a year. Due to his injury, he knew he would not be able to box again. Shortly after his retirement he began Brazilian Jujitsu. He found BJJ was helpful with fine motor skills and the mind mental connections that many miss when suffering PTSD or TBI. Greg needed physicality, sweat, teamwork and feels that BJJ takes participants out of their comfort zone, teaches teamwork and camaraderie that many times aren’t found in the day – to day world.
Greg fosters a team concept. Even when you are not having your best day your team will help you through. BJJ creates teamwork and trust between the participants. The group that Greg coaches have built a companionship and brotherhood through BJJ and they are a family.
Greg genuinely cares about every participant he coaches and loves that they have found a place at Clear Path through BJJ. Greg is a black belt and coaches at Clear Path and Fenix BJJ. Greg knows the benefits and possible physical limitations our Veterans face when participating in BJJ. Greg makes sure everyone has a valuable experience. Thank you, Greg, for all you do!
