Our Accomplishments: Journey Home Capital Project
One of our most significant achievements to date is the completion of the Journey Home Capital Project in 2020. This project involved the extensive renovation of a historic 22,000 square foot building that once served as an Army Headquarters and Hospital. This renovation has significantly expanded our capacity to serve the Veteran community in various ways:
Community Meals: The newly renovated facility allows us to host community meals, fostering a sense of togetherness and providing a platform for connections among Veterans, their families, and community members.
Employment Opportunities: Our upgraded facility supports employment initiatives for Veterans, helping them gain new skills and find meaningful work.
Community Engagement: We provide opportunities for volunteer engagement and peer-to-peer support, creating a tight-knit community of support.
Wellness Services: The facility includes a dedicated wellness wing offering movement therapy, yoga, individual treatment rooms for services like massage and acupuncture, and an art studio to promote overall health and well-being.
Clinical Services: We are proud to have key clinical service partners, Veteran and First Responder Healthcare on the second floor, providing critical healthcare services to Veterans.
Service and Support Dogs: Our facility includes a service dog training facility and offers obedience training for Military/Veteran families who have their own canine companions.
Community Spaces: Our center features an industrial-sized teaching kitchen, a 125-seat dining area for regular family-style meals, and flexible spaces for confidential individual or group sessions. These meals serve as a platform for connection-building and the sharing of success stories.
Recreation and Training Ground: The basement level houses a gym and functional movement training area, while the surrounding grounds include gardens, meditation areas, and family recreation spaces. These areas also serve as training grounds for Veterans seeking assistance with employment or looking to acquire new skills.
We are proud to report an average of 1500 service deliveries per month to Veterans and their family members. We invite you to take a virtual tour of our facility to experience the positive impact of our programs and services firsthand.
Join us in our mission to support and empower Veterans as they navigate their path toward community integration and connectedness. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
