November Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Marco Patachiola who joined the army in 1963.
He served first as an infantryman and then was sent to military school in Aberdeen, Maryland where he became a skilled mechanic and driver of trucks and tanks. After leaving the ARMY, Marc worked as a mechanic for various companies, and then using the G Bill, he received his pilot’s license. He has worked at the Aero Club at Hanscom Airforce Base where, even though can no longer fly his plane, he can still fix it!
Marco began his volunteer work at Clear Path after performing an act of kindness. While having coffee at Panera Bread, the staff had an issue with a tire on one of their trucks. Marco offered his assistant to fix the problem, which he did. The Panera staff offered Marco some free pastries in return for his kindness. Marco initially refused but then asked if he could take them and donate them.
A conversation ensued and now, several years later, Panera Bread still donates boxes of pastries and bread to Clear Path that is used in our Canteen program and Farmer Market each week, which Marco happily picks up and delivers to Clear Path! Thank you, Marco!!
